Amanda Kowalski, MS, CPDT-KA is the Director of Behavior Programs at San Diego Humane Society. Amanda leads a team of animal trainers and caregivers who provide specialized behavior plans for shelter animals, as well as pet behavior support to members of the San Diego Community. She has specialized in behavioral care in shelters for more than 10 years. Amanda holds a master’s degree in Animals and Public Policy from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer and serves on the Board of Directors for the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. When she is not working, Amanda loves spending time at the dog beach with her 3-year-old terrier mix, Mozart.
As senior vice president and Chief Philanthropy and Communications Officer, Brian Daugherty oversees the Humane Society's philanthropy, marketing and communications efforts. Brian’s work experience includes notable organizations such as the Baltimore Symphony; the Baltimore Zoo; the University of Baltimore; UC San Diego; and San Diego State University. Brian holds a master’s degree in nonprofit management and leadership from the University of San Diego. He currently lives in San Diego with his wife, Kathleen, their three children and his devoted companions, Sherman the Dorgi (dachshund and corgi mix) and Henry the Harrier.
