Register for Voices for Children’s inaugural Uplifting Voices event today! Join Co-Chairs Patricia Brutten and Marina Marrelli, for an afternoon of inspiring stories from our Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program, philanthropy, light bites, sips, and fun, with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean, as we lift up the voices of our community’s most vulnerable children in foster care.

During the program, NBC San Diego’s Mark Mullen will facilitate a conversation with award-winning journalist and 5th generation beekeeper Meredith May, author of “The Honey Bus,” a personal memoir of a young girl’s loss and courage.

Meredith was five when her parents split, and she suddenly found herself in the care of her grandfather, an eccentric Big Sur beekeeper who made honey in an old military bus in the yard. As they bonded over the art of beekeeping, Meredith discovered that everything she needed to know about life and family was right before her eyes, in the secret world of bees.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to support the life-changing advocacy of CASA volunteers through an irresistible live auction and the opportunity to Fund-a-CASA. All net proceeds from Uplifting Voices 2022 will support Voices for Children’s CASA program in San Diego County.
